Looptroop Rockers nominated for Grammis 2012
Luck strikes twice for the Empire. Bad Taste Records band Looptroop Rockers are nominated for Innovators of the year; a newly addition to the Grammis added to shine light on artists and groups who have built relationships with their fans though social media and digital channels and shown creativity surrounding the spreading of their music online.
Timbuktu nominated for Grammis 2012
To follow the streak of accomplishments from the past weeks Timbuktu has now been nominated in two categories for the Swedish award show Grammis 2012. Hiphop/Soul of the year and Song of the year for his tack “Resten av ditt liv”.
The award show itself takes place on February 14th in the royal opera house in Stockholm.
Timbuktu spent last week inside a glass cage in Gothenbourg streaming live radio 24/7 and collecting over 18 million Swedish kronor for charity together with Ana Gina & Kodjo Akolor for Musikhjälpen.

Mac Miller hitting up Hove Festival 2012
Pittsburgh native rapper Mac Miller is hitting up Hove Festival 2012. Alongside other US wonders such as Kreayshawn and Skrillex, Miller will take the stage in Tromøya Arnedal, Norway sometime during the three days of festival fun on June 26-29th.

Punk rock legends NOFX are coming to play the Siesta Festival 2012. The festival is taking place in Hässleholm, Sweden from May 31st until June 2nd and has made a name for itself in Sweden for it’s great bookings and atmosphere.

Evidence coming to Peace & Love 2012
Rap phenomenon Evidence is officially coming to Peace & Love festival in Borlänge, Sweden June 26-30, 2012. As a part of the Rhymesayers crew we saw him perform on the Rhymesayers European Tour 2011 (along with Grieves & Budo, also playing Peace &Love) and we are glad to have him back in our neck of the woods.

Timbuktu No.1 on iTunes Scandinavia
This has been a great first week with our newest team member Timbuktu, he currently holds the No.1 spot on the iTunes singles charts i Scandinavia with his cover of Swedish classic song “Flickan & Kråkan” (originally by Mikael Wiehe). The track was first heard on Swedish hit television show “Så mycket bättre” (So much better) where famous Sweden’s artists cover each others songs on TV with live performances.
