After a successful festival summer with shows at both Peace & Love and Malmöfestival in Sweden, CunninLynguists are now returning for their first club tour in the Nordics in four years. Along with them on tour is the rapmachine Tonedeff who will release an album with Kno from CunninLynguists next year under the name Chico & The Man.

Mac Millers album Blue Slide Park entered at no. 1 on the Billboard Album charts when released on Nov 8th and is still holding the top spot. This is the debut album for the young rapper from Pittsburgh. Following a 2011 tour in Europe he is now doing extensive touring in North America. In January 2012 Stockholm and Helsinki can enjoy the presance of the political harcore band Scream from Washington DC. Scream orginally started back in 1982 by Peter Stahl, Franz Stahl, Skeeter Thompson and Kent Stax. They released three ablums before switching drummer and on joined the 18 year old Dave Grohl for two albums. Grohl later left the band in DC for Seattle to join Nirvana.
After taking a break in the 90s they’re now back with a 7 track EP recorded in February 2011 in Dave Grohls studio “606” with the original setting of the band.
Efter en sommar fullspäckad med festivalspelningar runtom i Sverige och med deras första gig utomlands i bagaget så har nu Mohammed Ali laddat batterierna för en händelserik höst. Med start imorgon kommer de att medverka på fyra spelningar på Marching For Life – en välgörenhetsturné som även artister som Måns Zelmerlöw, Claes Malmberg, The Monikor, Sofia Karlsson mfl kommer att vara en del av. Bakom turnén står organisationen Star For Life som arbetar för att minska spridningen av HIV i särskilt utsatta områden i Afrika.
I samband med detta går vi nu med en ny singel från deras hyllade debutalbum ‘Vi’. Låten ‘Sista resan’ är producerad av Astma och med ett tema som de flesta kan relatera till så har den växt fram till en stor favorit bland deras lyssnare. En video är inspelad och kommer också den släppas inom kort.
På lördag denna veckan kommer de dyka upp i Postkodlotteriets grannyra på TV4, där de givetvis framträder med låten ‘Postkodsmiljonär’. En lika oväntad som självklar koppling och kanske ännu ett bevis på att deras musik egentligen är “lika bred som till exempel Ulf Lundell och Raj Montana Band var på 1970-talet”, för att citera Jan Gradvall i DI Weekend.
