Mac Miller to Pori Jazz
This one goes out to Finland; Mac Miller is coming back next summer. This time to play Pori Jazz in July, 2014. He’s amongst the first official artist to be released for the festival alongside rock legend Patti Smith.
Dilated Peoples to Roskilde Festival
Finally the three piece underground hip-hop legends Dilated Peoples are coming back to Scandinavia. They are set to play the Roskilde Festival 2014 in Denmark next summer. Their intelligent tunes ooze integrity, grit and rebellious Rasta roots. Dilated Peoples visited Roskilde Festival back in 1999 with a rising underground profile and will now finally return with a brand-new album.
DANKO JONES release artistic video for “Legs” by acclaimed director Bruce LaBruce
It gives us great pleasure to present yet another intriguing visual installment from Danko Jones, this time it is the official video for their latest single “Legs”. With acclaimed and often controversial Canadian director Bruce LaBruce at the helm they’ve produced a visually captivating video by mirroring the works of Pierre Molinier and applying an artistic yet eccentric use of sexuality.
LaBruce, who is best known for his sexually charged and culturally challenging productions have been looking forward to working with the band for a long time, says LaBruce: “I’ve known Danko and John for many years, and I went to many Danko Jones shows when they were first starting out in Toronto and in New York./…/ After reconnecting with Danko last year at his book launch, we decided it was finally time for me to do a video for them.”
The video itself is in line with the direct vision LaBruce had to create a spectacular and unexpected video for the song. “Danko suggested their song Legs, and for some reason I immediately thought of some of my sexy and leggy acquaintances in the M-F transsexual community. I really love the work of the famous photographer Pierre Molinier, whose gender bending photographs have influenced a variety of artists, so I decided to pay tribute to his work in the video.” Alongside LaBruce was art director Kenny Baird who, together with LaBruce, has worked notably with Floria Sigismondi on some of her most successful music videos, to help recreate the style and mood of Molinier.
This out of the box thinking has resulted in a striking and unique video to join the long list of video installments the band has made over the years including the “Below The Belt” trilogy and their documentary “Bring On The Mountain” (both directed by The Diamond Brothers). Danko says “Why this collaboration with Bruce LaBruce didn’t happen sooner is beyond me. From writing the liner notes to our second release, to using our song in his 1999 movie, “Skin Flick/ Skin Gang”, Bruce’s connection to our band is irrefutable.”
This past year the band has been touring extensively. Not only have they sold out shows all over Europe and Canada, they have finished their two biggest US tours to date; supporting Volbeat across the country as well spending 5 weeks on the road with the 2013 Uproar Festival. They’ve also reached their highest ever radio ratings in the US with the single “Just A Beautiful Day” peaking at no. 26 on the Active Rock charts.
This new collaboration with LaBruce is paving a new road of artistic creations for the band: “For us, Bruce directing “Legs” has been a long time coming and of course, good things come to those who wait. This music video is a trip. We love it. We know you’ll love it too.”

Timbuktu will play the Nobel Peace Prize Concert
We can now happily announce that Timbuktu is playing at the 20th Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Oslo on December 11th. Along with international artists such as Morrissey, Mary J Blige, James Blunt and many more he will take the stage to celebrate this years winner at the Oslo Spektrum Arena. Eliason Award After Party with Third Party and MRTN
The Eliason Merit Awards honoring Steve Angello is soon coming up, and we can now share the news that the progressive house music duo Third Party will perform at the Eliason Award after party. Third Party is signed to Angello’s label Size Records and has worked with him previously as well as remixed tracks by Swedish House Mafia. With their emotionally charged house music with game changing remixes they will keep the party booming until the early hours. Like that wasn’t enough; also performing is Swedish DJ MRTN who will kick off the evening. As one of Sweden’s most prominent DJs he will no doubly start the party with a bang.
The Eliason Merit Award is an exclusive event hosted every year by Swedish American Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles. On the board of directors we are represented by Bad Taste president Björn Barnekow. This year’s recipient, Steve Angello receives the award for his persistent musical innovation that has put Sweden in the international spotlight and helped strengthen the relations between The United States and Sweden.

OBA Management i samarbete med Tomas Andersson Wij
Det är med glädje vi kan meddela att vi nu har den stora äran att representera artisten och låtskrivaren Tomas Andersson Wij. Vi har beundrat Tomas arbete på avstånd i många år och det känns fantastiskt spännande att nu äntligen få jobba tillsammans.
Okej att vara soloartist men att vara solo när det gäller kontrakt, förhandlingar och långsiktig planering är inget vidare. Jag är väldigt glad att ha hittat bra folk som kan hjälpa mig med allt det där, säger Tomas Andersson Wij.
Tomas håller för närvarande på att spela in nytt album med beräknad release hösten 2014 och nyligen drog andra säsongen av ”Tomas Andersson Wij pratar med” igång, där han varje måndag på Teater Brunnsgatan Fyra samtalar med en gäst inför publik. Henrik Schyffert, Melissa Horn, Tommy Körberg och Marie Göranzon har redan medverkat i höst och bland kommande gäster finns bland annat Lotta Lundgren och Eva Dahlgren.
Utöver detta har han en rad andra intressanta projekt på gång som vi kommer kunna berätta mer om snart och vi ser framemot ett långsiktigt samarbete där vi hoppas vara med och utveckla alla områden Tomas verkar inom. För oss känns han som det perfekta tillskottet till en managementroster som sedan innan består av Danko Jones, Timbuktu, Chords och journalisten Erik Niva och huvudsakligen ansvariga för arbetet med Tomas kommer José Saxlund vara.
